When your over stressed finding stress relief can be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack! Mostly in part because your brain is beyond even understanding what stress relief is let alone being able to find some stress relief.

Everyone has stress! I know that statement most likely doesn’t make you feel any better, nor can you even appreciate the fact that your not alone. That is understandable and in order to find some stress relief in your life you need to STOP what your doing right now, (well, when your finished reading this article) not when you finish that huge project for work or take the kids to practice, or finish mowing the grass or cooking dinner. Just STOP what your doing!

Take a deep breath and ask yourself “What would relieve my stress?” The first thing that pops into your mind, whether it be a vacation, a evening out, a good game of golf or a visit to the beauty salon for a complete makeover. I understand you may not be able to just drop everything and go do that. So you do the next best thing. You plan that stress relief activity that popped into your mind.

Sit down with a piece of paper and a pen, or at your keyboard and plan your stress relief day or vacation. Don’t plan it for a month from now, the sooner the better. By planning you are doing two things, one allowing your mind to wander away from stress temporarily (which is more beneficial than you most likely realize.) The second thing is when your stress becomes over whelming your plans will give you some stress relief just by thinking about them. Of course, once you take that stress relief day or vacation you will be able to relax and renew your mind and body.

Everyone needs to make time for themselves regardless of how busy and hectic your life may be. No ones life is suppose to be constant work! It is suppose to be as much fun as it is work and until you realize you are worthy of some fun and enjoyment in life you will suffer. So don’t waste another second start planning that stress relief day or vacation right now! There is only one key to stress relief and that is fun and relaxation!

How To Deal With Stress

Posted on May 18th, 2009 in Dealing with Stress | No Comments »

stressLearning how to deal with stress, doesn’t have to cause you even more stress. Most people do not even realize they have stress until it begins to invade their professional and private life. At that point the feelings of being overwhelmed turns into stress.

Learning how to deal with stress is as easy as learning a couple of stress reducing techniques. Even if these few stress reducing techniques are something you are already doing, then take a closer look because either you are really not doing them or your not doing enough of them.

  • Get and stay organized – This technique is beneficial for both your professional and personal life. An organized person is less likely to experience stress, due to the fact that they know what is going on, and they know when enough is enough, and have the ability to say “NO!”
  • Learn to delegate responsibilities – If you have a busy household then sharing the responsibility  of the children and chores is essential no one person can do everything all of the time! Especially if both adults have jobs outside of the home as well. If your professional life is causing you stress, you have two choices depending on your position of employment. If you’re in a position to delegate responsibilities to other employees then do so. If your not and your employer is not understanding of the stress your job causes your perhaps it is time to find a less stressful job.
  • Take back your life – This technique is the best one yet! If stress has taken over your life then you need to take it back! You may have to make some sacrifices and no one can tell you exactly how to do this, it’s one of those things where you know what is best for you emotional and physically and the decisions have to be yours.

While you may be wondering how those three techniques are going to help you deal with your stress, you’re going to have to implement them into your life and see for yourself! I guarantee you will notice an improvement within a week.
